One of BioScience Laboratories’ greatest assets is its employees.  Each member of the BSLI team contributes to the overall success of the company.

Daryl S Paulson, Ph.D., MBA - President and CEO  Email
Dr. Daryl S. Paulson, President and CEO, has extensive experience in skincare research designs, clinical trials, and biostatistics. He is the author of the standard texts of antimicrobial and disinfectant product testing Dr. Paulson has designed the procedures used at BioScience Laboratories, Inc., for evaluation of skin care and cosmetic products, as well as the statistical models used to assess the data. These include factorial designs, Analysis of Variance designs, regression analysis, exploratory data analysis, and integrative and statistical design in both parametric and nonparametric methods.   In addition to authoring texts Dr. Paulson has published over 30 articles in several industry journals.  download a copy of Dr. Paulson's Publications.

Marsha Paulson, MBA - Vice President   Email
Marsha Paulson received her undergraduate degree from Vermont College in Montpelier, Vermont, and completed her Master of Business Administration degree at Norwich University in Northfield, Vermont.  Ms. Paulson has 25 years of previous banking experience and small business ownership. Her extensive experience in all facets of business operations facilitate the day-to-day workings of BioScience Laboratories. She is also a member of the company's Board of Directors.

John A Mitchell, Ph.D. - Chief Science Officer   Email
Dr. John Mitchell, Chief Science Officer, has been employed at BioScience Laboratories, Inc., since 1996. Currently, he is the chairman of the ASTM E35.15 Subcommittee, which develops standardized testing methods used in the topical antimicrobial and disinfectant industries. Dr. Mitchell's experience prior to BioScience include Medical Staff Coordinator, Clinical Microbiologist, and Medical Education Coordinator at St. Patrick Hospital in Missoula, Montana, Director of the Craighead Wildlife-Wildlands Institute, Executive Secretary of the Institute of Medicine and Humanities, and Professor of Microbiology at the University of Montana in Missoula. His specializations are in parasitology, clinical microbiology, ecology and wildlife disease, and physiology. He has extensive knowledge and experience in diagnosing the etiology of infections caused by bacteria, fungi, viruses, protozoa, and helminths, testing pathogens for antibiotic sensitivity, analyzing and interpreting research data, and writing and editing scientific literature.

Deanna J Field- Chief Financial Officer   Email
After providing consulting services for BioScience Laboratories for 3 years, Deanna J. Field now serves as the company's Chief Financial Officer. With over 35 years experience in successful business and operations management, Ms. Field provides oversight and leadership to the business group and the department managers. Her responsibilities include the development and monitoring of internal accounting controls, planning for cash and facility requirements to support anticipated growth, developing and executing contractual agreements, fulfilling staffing requirements and HR management, and building the company's "brand" throughout the business community.  Ms. Field has served on several non-profit boards including serving as the President of the Greater Gallatin United Way for two years.  She is currently serving on the Board of the Bozeman Noon Rotary Club, is a member of the Gallatin Valley Human Resource Assocation and is serving in an appointed capacity for Prospera Business Network.  Ms. Field is the past president of the Belgrade Chamber of Commerce, past president of the Gallatin Valley Credit Professionals and was awarded the distinction of "Women Who Make A Difference" by the Bozeman Daily Chronicle in 2002.  She is also a faculty member and presenter for the National Business Institue (NBI).

 

Sales & Marketing

John Dyba, MCRA - Senior Account Executive   Email
John Dyba received his undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering from Montana State University in Bozeman, Montana and is a graduate of Walden University with a Masters in Clinical Research Administration.  He is a native of Montana, has been with BioScience Laboratories since 2003, and has managed technical accounts for over 10 years.  John has an extensive background in customer service and support regarding EPA and FDA submissions, and claims substantiation.

Kyle McGovern, MBA - Senior Account Executive   Email
Kyle McGovern received his Bachelor of Science degree from Montana State University in Bozeman and his Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Montana in Missoula. He has been employed at BioScience Laboratories since 2004, and has been responsible for developing new business and maintaining client relations. Kyle's strong background in product testing and study design has helped him aide his clients from proof-of-concept studies for new product development all the way though formal submissions to the FDA and EPA. In the area of Business Development, Kyle has played a key role in bringing on new testing capabilities to BSLI such as In-vitro Alternatives to Animal Testing and a complete GLP Virology Laboratory. Kyle puts great emphasis on service and strives to become a true partner with each of his clients in serving their needs.

Jim Verzuh, MBA - Director of Marketing and Special Projects   Email
Jim Verzuh received his Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering with honors from the University of Portland and his Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Washington. Jim has fifteen years experience in FDA-regulated industries in marketing, operations and quality assurance roles. He has helped numerous organizations define new strategies, develop partnerships and enhance their value offering to customers.  Jim is a member of the American Society for Clinical Pharmacology and Therapeutics (ASCPT) and the International Society for Antiviral Research (ISAR).

Laboratory Managers

Kathy Wojcik - Director of Laboratory Operations  Email
Kathy earned her BA in biology and BS in Medical Technology from Western Connecticut State University and later an MBA from the University of Sarasota. Kathy’s background spans from manufacturing environments to quality assurance to human resources to operations management.  Kathy is a Certified Professional Coach.

Terri Eastman - Manager of In Vitro LaboratoryEmail
Terri Eastman graduate from Montana State University with a degree in microbiology. Ms. Eastman spent eight years with Skyland Scientific Services, a pioneering company in the field of pharmaceutical validation consulting. In addition to supervising the in-house microbiology laboratory, she performed numerous on-site performance qualifications at pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities. This experience not only furthered her microbiology expertise but also taught her valuable client relationship skills, which she exhibits to this day.Ms. Eastman joined the BioScience Laboratories staff in 1997 and was quickly promoted to the position of Principal Study Director and Laboratory Manager. While at BioScience Laboratories, Terri has excelled at collaborating with the sponsor's scientific staff to design relevant and scientifically sound studies to challenge a wide range of antimicrobial and disinfectant products. In addition to her duties at BioScience Laboratories, Terri is a contributing member of the ASTM E35.15 Subcommittee, which develops standardized testing methods used in the topical antimicrobial and disinfectant industries.

Ron Neibauer - Manager of Clinical Laboratory Email 
Ron Neibauer received his undergraduate degree in Industrial and Management Engineering from Montana State University in Bozeman. Mr. Neibauer joined BioScience Laboratories in the summer of 2007 after spending 10 years in the laser and medical device manufacturing industry. He has experience in ISO and GMP standards, customer service, manpower planning, quality control, and organizational development.

Volha Dzyakanava, Ph.D. - Manager of Virology Laboratory   Email
Dr. Volha Dzyakanava received her undergraduate degree in Microbiology and Biotechnology from Belarusian State University in Minsk, Belarus, and completed her Ph.D. in Virology at the Research Institute for Epidemiology and Microbiology in Minsk. She has experience working with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention investigating and researching various issues of viral infection.

Clinical Study Directors

Christopher M Beausoleil, CCRP - Senior Scientist/Scientific Writer   Email
Christopher Beausoleil has worked at BioScience Laboratories, Inc. since 1994 in the laboratories and has been involved in all phases of testing. He has extensive experience in evaluating the efficacy and safety of products using standard FDA methods and customized protocols.

Esther Campbell - Principal Study Director   Email
Esther Campbell received her Bachelor of Science degree in Biological Sciences from Montana State University in Bozeman.  Before working at BioScience Laboratories she worked in the Entomology Department at Montana State University researching plant chemicals for use as pesticides.  She has been employed at BioScience Laboratories since 2003 and became a Principal Study Director in the Clinical Laboratory in October of 2007.

Robert McCormack - Principal Study Director   Email
Robert McCormack received a Bachelor of Science degree from Montclair State University in Upper Montclair, New Jersey. He has been employed at BioScience Laboratories since 2000, and became a Principal Study Director in the Clinical Laboratories in 2003. Robert has conducted numerous clinical trial studies in the area of topical antimicrobials while in his present capacity.

Collette Duley - Principal Study Director   Email
Collette Duley received her Bachelor of Science degree and minors in Biology and Earth Science from Montana State University in Bozeman.  She has been employed at BioScience Laboratories since 2006.  When initially employed with BioScience Laboratories, she worked in both the Clinical Laboratory and Subject Recruitment.  Collette worked as an Associate Study Director for 3 years, and became a Principal Study Director in the Clinical Laboratory in January of 2010.

In Vitro Study Directors

Lisa Lehman - Principal Study Director   Email
Lisa Lehman received her Bachelor of Science degree in Microbiology from Montana State University.  She has been employed at BioScience Laboratories since 1995. While employed at BioScience Laboratories, Lisa has worked in the Clinical Laboratory, Subject Recruiting, Quality Assurance, and the In Vitro Laboratory, where she advanced to the position of Study Director in 2007.

Jessica McDonnell Phillip - Principal Study Director   Email
Jessica McDonnell
Phillip attended the University of Montana, graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree in Microbiology with a Medical Technology major. She has worked at BioScience Laboratories since 1994 and has vast experience in the clinical and in-vitro laboratories, as well as in Quality Assurance.  Ms. McDonnell Phillip is currently the predominate study director for developments in the area of alternatives to animal testing.

Carl Schmidt - Principal Study Director   Email
Carl Schmidt attended Montana State University, graduating in 2007 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Microbiology with a Clinical Laboratory Science focus.  He has worked at BioScience Laboratories since 2007 and has experience in conducting studies in both the clinical and in-vitro laboratories.  Mr. Schmidt was promoted to Principal Study Director in September 2010.

Kristy Wuebber - Principal Study Director   Email
Kristy Wuebber attended Montana State University, graduating in 2003 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology.  She has worked at BioScience Laboratories since 2007.  Her prior experience includes conducting research for the Center for Biofilm Engineering and the Thermal Biology Institute.  Ms. Wuebber was promoted to Principal Study Director in November 2010.

Virology Study Directors

Kelly Burningham - Principal Study Director   Email
Kelly Burningham received her undergraduate degree in Microbiology from Montana State University in Bozeman, MT and joined BioScience Laboratories in 2007 with 6 years experience in laboratory environments. In addition to working full time, she is currently working on a master's degree in Public Health.

Accounting

Alex Gallub - Controller   Email
Alex Gallub has served as the company's Controller since February 2006. He is responsible for the company's accounting and cash management affairs, including but not limited to financial reporting and general ledger activities, payroll management, purchasing, job costing, budgeting, and cash flow planning. Mr. Gallub graduated from Queens College in New York with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Accounting in 2001.

Quality Assurance

Amy Juhnke - Manager of Quality Assurance/Document Control   Email
Amy Juhnke received her undergraduate degree in English and History from Syracuse University.  She has been employed at BioScience since 2000 and has over 8 years of experience in Quality Assurance.  Ms. Juhnke is an active member of the Society of Quality Assurance (SQA).

Quality Control

Scott D Ferraro - Manager of Quality Control   Email
Scott Ferraro received his quality control experience while serving in the U.S. Navy on board the USS Texas as an Engineman Work Center Supervisor. After his enlistment, he continued employment with the Department of Defense as a Nuclear Refueler at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard. Being a native Montanan brought Scott back to Bozeman, were he worked as a Calibration and Validation Manager for 9 years prior to joining BioScience Laboratories in 2006.
